Introduction

Many people ask how many Mason students and alumni get accepted to a health professions program. This section provides information about the schools that those students and alumni disclose to the Health Professions Advisor enter. We hope that current students would also share this information to give future students some insight.

The information presented is meant for advising purposes.

Summary of documents

1. Diagnosis Reports: These are annual reports on the identity, career interests, and application progress of students interested in the health professions at George Mason.

2. Grade Point Averages (GPA) of Matriculants: This table shows the national GPA for all students successfully admitted into a health professions program.
3. GPA-DAT graph: This PDF file contains a scatterplot of individual student applicants (applicants with or pursuing Mason baccalaureate or graduate degrees) for dental school, with their AADSAS calculated science GPA as the abscissa and the average DAT score (of academic average, total science and perceptual ability) as the ordinate. Students who were successful are designated, and this graph is meant to show the trends for admission into dental school.
4. GPA-MCAT graph: This PDF file contains a scatterplot of individual student applicants (applicants with or pursuing Mason baccalaureate or graduate degrees) for medical school, with their AMCAS calculated science GPA as the abscissa and the aggregate MCAT score (physical sciences, verbal reasoning, and biological sciences) as the ordinate. Students who were successful are designated, and this graph is meant to show the trends for admission into medical programs.
5. DAT scores of Mason applicants (entering year 2006): This file gives the average scores for all Mason students and alumni who took the DAT and applied for the 2006 entering class in dental schools.
6. MCAT scores of Mason student test-takers: This file gives the average scores for all Mason students and alumni who took the MCAT.
7. Where the Mason alumni are: This table lists schools where Mason graduates were accepted to allopathic medical school as they have self-reported on AMCAS. Direct self-reporting is also welcomed.
