Health Professions Advising at Mason

Academic Advising

Your Academic Advisor

Undeclared students, freshmen, or sophomores with an interest in the health professions should consult with their departmental academic advisor regarding coursework needed for a Mason degree and science coursework for a health professions graduate program. Students should be meeting with these advisors once every semester.

Undeclared and students unsure about curricular requirements may also go to the Academic Advising Center. The Academic Advising Center has two staff members (Paul Bousel and Debbie Bohn) with experience advising students interested in the health professions. Both Paul and Debbie serve as members of the Medical Sciences Advisory Committee.

Any student with questions on academic preparation for careers as Doctors, Dentists, Physical Assistants, Pharmacists, or Veterinarians should feel free to talk with Paul or Debbie at least once during each academic year. They have general information sheets (which we have linked here) available to students interested in these and other health professions.
