Nursing and Health Care Management

Students interested in nursing or health care management should approach advisors in the College of Health and Human Sciences first before asking the Health Professions Advisor.

Appointments

Since most students should be consulting with their academic advisors for planning the sequence of coursework to fulfill their major requirements, I prefer that the following categories of students or alumni schedule appointments with me (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Intended applicants for a health professions program who have two or fewer prehealth courses remaining and have completed their pre-application.
  • Applicants who wish or intend to apply to dual or joint-degree programs in the health professions (including health/JD or MBA).
  • Eligible students, alumni, or employees who wish to apply for early admission to medical programs.
  • Applicants with other degrees from Mason or other institutions who are currently taking post-baccalaureate work as Mason students.
  • Students interested in science-based careers for a "gap year" experience after graduation in preparation for a delayed application to a health professions graduate program.
  • Students interested in alternative medical tracks such as audiology, complementary/alternative medicine, naturopathic medicine, or allied health fields (physical or occupational therapy).

Appointment requests are only made by email; students should contact Dr. Chuck at least 2 days before the intended meeting. A brief agenda should accompany the request.

Students should be familiar with advice posted on this website prior to making an appointment.
