My role

What does a health professions advisor do? This PDF document geared towards students and applicants can help you understand the general duties of a health professions advisor.

I also am in charge of the Medical Sciences Advisory Committee. The Mason Gazette had written an article about my goals as a Health Professions Advisor.

My Advising Philosophy

Successful undergraduate education is measured by an institution's ability to develop and value individuals as scholars, leaders, and colleagues. Academic advising addresses each student's scholarly expectations with interpersonal mentoring with faculty and advising staff to guide the student through a meaningful interdisciplinary curriculum that is consistent with his/her professional goals. Students interested in a health professions career should experience clinical and research environments to identify and develop their own skills, interests, and values. Students should also develop interpersonal, teamwork, and personal management skills to prepare for interdisciplinary challenges in science and medicine.
