Health Professions Advising at Mason |
||
University ResourcesMedical Sciences Advisory CommitteeInterviewsStudents who require a composite or committee letter must submit a request form (Word). During winter break, interviews will be scheduled with members of the MSAC. Interviews with the MSAC are scheduled for mid-spring to mid-summer. A required pre-application must be complete by December 1 (supplemental forms and a digital photograph are due by January 1). Students are then contacted to schedule an interview (45-55 minutes long) with members of the committee. No interview is scheduled until all materials are received, and any delay in scheduling the interview may also impart a delay in your application to a health professions program. The interview is intended to simulate an admissions committee interview. Your interview should consist of faculty members from whom you did not request a letter of evaluation. The interviewers then submit feedback for the applicant's final institutional composite letter of evaluation. All dual-degree program applicants (such as MD/PhD) may also have a separate interview with Dr. Chuck. The information from this interview and your letters of evaluation will be formulated into a composite evaluation to be delivered to the programs of your choice by Dr. Chuck. Do you need an MSAC interview?Although there may be specific variability depending on the school one applies for, the following professions generally require or prefer an institutional "composite" letter of reference.
Applications to these health professions do NOT require an institutional composite letter.
