Health Professions Advising at Mason

Information for Students

Transfer students

Transfer students (including international students with coursework taken outside the United States) need to talk with the departmental academic advisor and understand which credits taken at other institutions will be accepted at George Mason. What is just as important is knowing which science prerequisites may need to be taken again. Be familiar with the process of evaluating your transfer credits.

For those who are transferring from the Virginia Community College System, this link from the Admissions Office goes to the list of course equivalencies; compare this to the required Mason coursework for a health professions graduate application.

If you have completed all the prerequisite chemistry and physics courses, then you should consider taking two upper-level biology classes or other classes for admission to a health professions program to demonstrate your ability to handle scientific material at Mason.
